Horrifying mold photos disturb Stamford residents

-

“This is horrific that children— our most vulnerable, and staff have had to be in these unsafe/ unhealthy environments for so long! If you are not feeling well due to unsafe air and environmental issues how can one learn?!”

“Making the schools safe for the teachers and students is the priority. But in order to maintain the repairs those responsible need to be fired and a new system needs to go into place. This is outrageous! This town needs an outside team to review how the budget has been spent and the records of maintenance employees saying work has been done and haven’t. Clean it up!!!”

“This issue needs to finally be taken seriously. I have friends who teach at some of these schools who are becoming ill! This is absolutely ridiculous that teachers and students are being forced to deal with these unsafe conditions.”

“This isn’t a funding issue. Clogged drains, unattended leaks, poorly maintained HVAC. This is a failure to identify problems and fix them while they are easily solvable and before they cause six figure damages. This is lack of oversight pure and simple. That’s what happens when politicians hire their friends.”

“I’ve been in thousands of walls and ceilings, and I gotta say that’s real bad. The guys just gotta do a better job of maintenance and preventative maintenance. I know we’ve had unprecedented rain in the past year or two, but the pictures show neglect. Especially the instances of not cleaning the vents and behind the radiator. That’s just laziness ... and the spots on the ceilings don’t just appear overnight.”
