WOMEN’S GOLF HUBBARD HEIGHTS

In a September 5 stroke play tournament for the 9 Holers, Linda Colucci (59) was low gross score champ. Ruth Weinstein (33) was low net score titlist on a match of cards.

In a September 5 stroke play tournament for the 18 Holers, Deb Vetti (71) was low net score.

In a September 10 Queen of Clubs tournament for the 18 Holers, Nancy Tersigni was the winner.

In a September 10 stroke play event for the 18 Holers, Jean Krause (86) was low gross score champ with Nancy Tersigni (93) as runnerup. Sheila Racaniello (65) was low net score titlist followed by Alice Honcharik (69) on a match of cards with Diane Chartier (69).

In a September 10 Four Person Scramble tournament for the 9 Holers, the team of Linda Colucci, Carol DeSiato, Anne DuFrane and Pat Sileo (net 19) were the champions.

MEN’S GOLF STERLING FARMS

In a September 68 Match vs. Par weekend event, in A Flight, Ted Steede (3 down) edged Jamie Russo (3 down) to be low gross score champ. Bill Duggan (3 up) was low net titlist ahead of Roger Haggerty, Andre Sieh and Peter Perimenis (all 1 up).

In B Flight, Kevin Miller (8 down) took low gross honors ahead of Bob Kolenberg (9 down) and Kevin Behan (9 down). Steve Simms (3 up) was low net champ followed by Tim Dausch (2 up). In C Flight, Justin Beal (12 down) took low gross honors. Peter Rathman (2 up) edged Bill Ward (1 up) as low net titlist.

In an August 30Septembe­r 2 Best Ball of Two weekend event, the duo of Skip Wells and Joe McHugh (72) were low gross score champs. Bart Weissman and Jerry Marifke (74) as well as Mark Vassalotti and Howard Meditz (74) were next.

The team of Alex Lionetti and Kevin Corbo (59) took low net score honors. Max Kolbrenner and Peter Rathman (60) along with Bob Kolenberg and Lenny Canora (61) followed.

YOUTH GIRLS BASKETBALL YOUNGTIMER­S FALL CLINICS

The Stamford Youngtimer­s will be holding fall clinics for 4th to 8th grade girls on Sept. 17, 18, 19, 23, 24 and 25 at Scofield Middle School. 4th, 5th and beginning 6th graders are scheduled for 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. while 6th through 8th graders will play from 7:45 to 9 p.m. All girls of all skill levels are welcome! Costs of the clinics will be $90 for a package of all six clinics, $50 for a single week and $25 for each single clinic. You can register for the clinics at the Youngtimer­s website, sytbb.com.

YOUTH FIELD HOCKEY

The Stamford Recreation Dept. is offering an eightweek Youth Field Clinic on Saturdays at the Cummings Park 5 field from Sept. 14November 9 for $250. The clinics run 8 a.m.9 a.m. (Grades 34), 9 a.m.10 a.m. (Grades 56), 10 a.m.11 a.m. (Grades 78).

STAMFORD OLD TIMERS

The 77th annual Stamford Old Timers Associatio­n dinner is set for Monday, December 2 at 6 p.m. at the Stamford Italian Center at 1620 Newfield Avenue.

Proceeds help fund scholarshi­ps for needy and deserving local scholarath­letes and local sports teams.

The 2019 local honorees include Jaime Camacho, Tom Chiappetta, Mickey DeVito, Jim Sabia, Steve Summa and Tom Vitti.

National honorees will be former USC and NFL standout linebacker Garry Cobb along with current NHL executive and former Major Indoor Soccer League Commission­er and CEO Steve Ryan.

Cocktail hour is at 6 p.m. with the dinner starting at 7 p.m.

DONATE USED BASEBALL EQUIPMENT

The Polish National Youth Baseball Foundation is collecting used baseball equipment (Bats, Balls, Gloves, Uniforms, Catchers Equipment) for the children in Poland and Eastern Europe. Donations may be dropped off at Clark’s Trophy’s on Viaduct Road, Instant Replay and Bobby Valentine’s Sports Academy at 4 Largo Dr. in Springdale or in Shippan Point at 222 Ocean Drive East.
