John Joseph Jacobs, 63, resident of East Hartford,

CT and Eastham, MA passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2019, with his family by his side. He was born in Pittston, PA on November 23, 1955 to Dolores Malkowski and the late John George Jacobs. John graduated from Stamford Catholic High in Stamford, CT in 1973, Central Connecticu­t State University in 1977, and later earned an advanced CLU. John was a successful and accomplish­ed businessma­n, a financial advisor for over 30 years and founder of Jacobs Financial Services in Glastonbur­y, CT. His decorated career include awards such as Top Financial Advisor for the Financial Times, Five Star Wealth Manager, and others from Voya, Connecticu­t Law Tribune and Million Dollar Round Table. John loved life. He enjoyed going to live concerts, collecting music memorabili­a, driving fast cars, and spending time on Cape Cod. John had a big, generous, and strong heart and found great joy in helping others. He served as a past Trustee of Julius Hartt Music Foundation at University of Hartford, Chairman of Glastonbur­y Music Festival, past board member of the Glastonbur­y YMCA, and President of Glastonbur­y Friends for Music. Most of all he loved his family, his dear wife of 41 years Lorraine (Carrier) Jacobs, son John Armand Jacobs and his wife Brittani of Cincinnati, OH, daughter Shannon Concepcion and her husband Mo from Stamford, CT, and his mother Dolores Jacobs, and sister Ann Marie Jacobs, also from Stamford, CT. He is also survived by his sister in law and husband, John and Judy Igielski of Newington, CT and brother-in-law Richard Carrier from Rocky Hill, CT, niece Susan Erwin and her husband John and their children Katrina and Grace from Bolton, CT, niece Sharon Papale and husband Mike and their children Gabrielle and Joey from Colchester, CT and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. John was predecease­d by his father John George Jacobs, a veteran who instilled in him a deep passion and appreciati­on for those who served in the military. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. in SS. Isidore and Maria Parish at St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbur­y (everyone please meet at church). Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbur­y. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbur­y on Thursday Oct 3 from 4-7 p.m. Following the cemetery John’s family would like to invite everyone back to the Hilton Garden Inn, 85 Glastonbur­y Blvd. to celebrate his amazing life by sharing memories and stories.
