The community gathered in the atrium of the Greenwich Public Safety complex on Dec. 7 to salute 10 Greenwich veterans of World War II as well as to mark a solemn anniversary in the nation’s history, Pearl Harbor Day. The annual event organized by American Legion Post 29 with the Cos Cob VFW and the Byram Veterans Association honored Lou Caravella, Frank Carr, George Cheswick, Ross Curtis, Sal DeAngelo, Army nurse Tina Franco, Vincent Masi, code breaker Winona Mullins, Archie Russell, Stanley Sandlock, former town First Selectman John Margenot, Jim McKay who passed away on Dec. 4, and my father, George Costaregni, a lifelong town resident who served with the U.S. Air Force Special Forces, and passed away on Nov. 18. Thank you to all who organized the special tribute and remembered my dad, who would have been both humble and proud at this truly heartwarming event.

DJ Khaled. It is scheduled for release in theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.

This is our first Christmas without my father. He was and always will be our Santa Claus, giving us the greatest gifts of love and laughter and always a home filled with comfort and joy. I never took a day for granted with my dad, I treasured every moment spent with him and was always grateful for the love and security he gave me. Cherish your family and keep them close to your heart, no matter how near or far they may be … and have a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy and Healthy New Year.
