Cos Cob party will benefit ‘The Patrol’
Scene... The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol — better known as “The Patrol” — will hold its 2020 benefit at 7 p.m. Friday March 27, at the Greenwich Water Club on River Road in Cos Cob. This year’s event, celebrating 93 years of service to the town of Greenwich, will honor Greenwich philanthropist Sabrina Pray
Forsythe with the Chief’s Award for her dedicated service to the town of Greenwich as well as her support of The Patrol. Past recipients include First Selectman Fred Camillo, former Selectman Paul
Hicks, former First Selectman Peter Tesei, former MLB player and manager
Bobby Valentine, and Greenwich business leader

Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon and will discuss her new book, “The Gift of Forgiveness: Inspiring Stories from Those Who Have Overcome the Unforgivable.” Schwarzenegger married actor Chris Pratt in June. Scene… The Stamford Family YMCA’s annual gala “Fine Food for a Cause” took place last Monday at the Waters Edge at Giovanni’s in Darien. Tom Cassone, former director of legal affairs for the city of Stamford, served as master of ceremonies at the event. Longtime YMCA board Secretary Bonnie Verses, founder and president of the Survey Research Center in Stamford, was honored for her leadership and generosity.
Out there… The Connecticut League of Women Voters will present awards to the winners of its student essay contest, “What If Women Could Not Vote?” at a reception at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Greenwich Historical Society in Cos Cob. Scene… The Focus on French Cinema’s kickoff takes place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Avon Theatre in Stamford with a screening of “Young Ahmed.” The newly released film was directed and written by the awardwinning film-making brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne. The evening will feature a selection of Belgian gaufres and chocolates, followed by a Q&A with Joe Meyers, director of programming, and a panel of experts. The festival of Francophone Cinema, presented by the Alliance Française of Greenwich, takes place from Friday, April 24, to Tuesday, April 28, in Greenwich, Stamford and Manhattan.
