Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds make donation to feed the hungry during coronaviru­s

Husband-and-wife actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, who live in nearby Bedford, N.Y., pledged $1 million to Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.

Wahlburger­s, the chain of restaurant­s owned by Boston native and chef Paul Wahlberg and his brothers, actors Mark and Donnie Wahlberg, began delivering thousands of meals to those on the front lines of the pandemic in Massachuse­tts last week. So far, the famous restaurant chain has delivered 2,000 meals to 32 fire stations, 11 police stations and three state police barracks in the Boston area. They are also taking food to healthcare workers at Boston

area hospitals and to workers at the UPS facility in Norwood, Mass., as well as providing first responders in Worcester, Mass., with meals and food to the COVID-19 testing lab at UMass Memorial Medical Center.

Actress Angelina Jolie has donated $1 million to No Kid Hungry, an organizati­on that focuses on ending child hunger in the U.S. by providing meals for children in low-income families. No Kid Hungry has donated $2 million to 78 organizati­ons across 30 states so far to feed children during the pandemic.

Makeup mogul Kylie Jenner donated $1 million to Los Angeles hospitals to fund protective supplies and masks for doctors on the frontlines.

Singer/actor Justin Timberlake, whose been known to frequent Green & Tonic on Railroad Avenue in Greenwich, made a donation to Mid-South Food Bank, which is located in his hometown of Memphis.

The Town of Bedford, N.Y., is providing free packets of “Mammoth” sunflower seeds to anyone who goes to the town offices at 425 Cherry St. in Bedford Hills. Organizers say it’s their way of visually showing that the community will get through the COVID-19 outbreak together. The seeds, which can grow into sunflowers as tall as 12 feet, were donated by Katonah’s Kelloggs, Lawrence Hardware Store and Conservati­on

Board member Susan Roos.

The McDonald’s restaurant chain began serving Thank You Meals to first responders, healthcare workers and police officers last week. The offer, which runs through May 5, is available to those eligible at locations offering drive-thru service or via carryout. The free meal includes a sandwich/ burger, fries and any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee.

To Go… Caren’s Cos Cobber on East Putnam Avenue in Greenwich is offering curbside pickup as well as cocktails to go from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
