M. Gloria Parente

-

M. Gloria Parente (Capalbo) entered into eternal rest on May 6, 2020 with her family by her side. She fought a courageous fight with grace and dignity, like she did everything in her life.

She is survived by her 3 loving children, Victoria Curry (John), Tracy Vento (Jeff), and Vincent Parente, her 6 grandchildren, Torianne, Kylee and Taylor Ruther, Tessa Vento, and Ava and Anthony Parente. She also leaves behind 2 sisters, Patricia Churz and Christine Currivan. In addition, she leaves behind a countless number of nieces, nephews and friends who were very special to her.

She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent “Geek” Parente, and 6 siblings, Jenny Pucci, Carmella Curcio, Angelo Capalbo, Lillian Toscano, Richard Capalbo, and Catherine “Pooey” Conetta.

Anyone that knew Gloria knew what a special person she was. She was known for many things but most notably her cooking, jokes, and funny stories. She loved to dance and entertain, and there wasn’t a person that knew her that didn’t have a funny story about her. She was selfless in nature and beloved by all. Throughout her life she accomplished many things and was well ahead of her time. She would drive to Florida with nothing but her kids, her station wagon and a map. She was the president of the Women’s Hubbard Heights Golf Association. In previous years she was also involved in the Sacred Hart Rosary Association and the Italian Center Nursery School. In her later years she loved spending time in Florida with her close friends and would organize “socials” and cook for over 100 people. She was truly one of a kind and will be remembered by all with fond memories. Her stories will be told for decades to come.

Due to the current covid pandemic, services and burial will be private. A memorial will be planned for a future date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Michael Ness Foundation c/o The Parente Family (11 Holbrook Drive, Stamford, CT 06906).

Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.lacerenzafh. com.
