Cos Cob native celebrates his 70th at the Stamford Diner

Scene … The outside dining area at the Parkway Diner in Stamford was buzzing last Sunday with a last-minute 70th birthday brunch celebratio­n for Cos Cob native and Stamford resident Milo Fuscaldo organized by his gal Grace. Blues great Bobby Harden, whom Fuscaldo performs with at Marianacci’s

Restaurant in Port Chester, N.Y., joined the celebratio­n as did Sky Mercede of Forever Sweet Bakery in Norwalk.

Out there … The Bedford Playhouse in nearby Bedford, N.Y., will feature an author event on Zoom with renowned bestsellin­g author Candace Bushnell at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Bushnell,

author of the popular book turned HBO series “Sex and the City,” will welcome viewers for a conversati­on and Q&A on two of her most recent books, “Is There Still Sex in the City?” and the young adult novel “Rules for Being a Girl.” The Q&A will be moderated by Westcheste­r resident and film producer Nancy Steiner. Going to the Majors … Brunswick School graduate Aaron Sabato was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the first round of the 2020 Major League Baseball draft last week. The Twins welcomed the 21-year old University of North Carolina first baseman and Rye Brook, N.Y., resident in a tweet. According to UNC, Sabato is the 12th Tar Heel drafted in the first round since 2006.

Making music … The Concert Choir at Greens Farm Academy in Southport performed a spectacula­r virtual concert recently of the Bill Withers hit “Lean on Me.” The choir worked on the concert for the past 12 weeks. To hear their performanc­e, go to gfacademy.org/community/blog.

Out there … The third annual Make Music Stamford Downtown takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 21, at Latham

Park, Mill River Park, Old Town Hall, Kiwanis Park, Ferguson Library Plaza and more.
