Breakthrough ballet dancer to Zoom DISH
Ballet book talk… The Friends of the Greenwich Library is presenting “A Night Out With Friends: A Conversation with Ballerina Misty Copeland” at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1 on Zoom. A bestselling author and principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre, she will discuss her inspiring life and career, her experiences as a trailblazer and social change agent and her upcoming children’s book, “Bunheads.” Only the second African-American female soloist for the ABT, Copeland made history in 2015, when she became the first African-American woman to be named principal dancer in the company’s 75 years. wich Historical Society will host its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3, with family activities in a safe outdoor environment. Popular bluegrass swing band Too Blue will perform, while families enjoy scarecrow-making, storytelling and a scavenger hunt. Participants will be required to wear masks and maintain six-feet distance from other groups of guests. There will be two sessions to ensure safe social distancing: noon to 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 to 4 p.m. Tickets are available for individuals ($10 for
members or $15 for nonmembers) and families ($35 for members and $50 for nonmembers) for each session. Family tickets include a scarecrow kit. Additional kits will be available for purchase. Out there… The Greenwich United Way fourth annual Golf Tournament takes place at Greenwich Country Club on Monday, Oct. 5, starting at 12:30 p.m. The registration cost will
