Running for his sixth term in the state House of Representatives, Daniel Fox, 44, is an attorney whose practice areas include real estate, municipal law and commercial law.

First elected in 2011, he is completing his fifth term in office and serves as chairman of the Government Administration and Elections Committee and also serves on the Judiciary Committee.

The married Glenbrook resident and father of three won his last election with 5,000 votes compared to his challenger’s 1,600. He said one of his top priorities is dealing with the state’s financial future, which has been badly damaged by the pandemic. He says he will promote middleclass housing and health care. While working on the Elections Committee this year Fox said he helped ensure that every voter will receive an absentee ballot.

Name: Kathleen Stowe Party: Democrat Race: State House 149th District

A Democrat, Kathleen Stowe has served on the Board of Education in Greenwich since 2017 and currently is the board’s vice chair and chair of its Budget Committee.

She is running against Kimberly Fiorello for the open seat in the 149th House District. State Rep. Livvy Floren, who has represented the district for 20 years, announced she would not seek reelection. The 149th District, which includes the backcountry of Greenwich and part of North Stamford, has been a GOP stronghold.

Stowe and her husband have three school-age children. She has worked in private investing and equity banking, and is currently growing Jordan & Jordan, a financial technology company, with her father, a U.S. veteran.

Stowe has focused her campaign on the state’s economic recovery after the coronavirus, saying Connecticut has an opportunity before it with an influx of new residents coming to the state from New York City. She says her fiscally conservative policies and progressive social views make her the candidate who can continue Floren’s legacy.
