Out there… The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol Inc. (better known as “The Patrol”) is holding “Operation Santa,” a benefit celebrating the all-volunteer agency’s 93 years of service to the town of Greenwich. Volunteers will deliver holiday cheer with Santa and The Grinch along with your wrapped holiday presents to your children on the weekends before Christmas. Art scene… Artist Peter Arguimbau and his wife Kim Arguimbau have reopened their art gallery, the historic Red Barn in backcountry Greenwich, to the public this holiday season. He has painted and restored paintings for over 30 years in the barn. Patrons can view his collection of older paintings, including classic marines, waterviews, landscapes, portraits and animals as well as moderately priced small works. His son, Andre, will also exhibit his handcrafted live-edged tables harvested from over 25 New England hardwood specimens. The Holiday Show hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Dec. 5 and Dec. 6. Out there… The first Virtual Greenwich Holiday Stroll, dubbed “24 Days of Holiday Shopping & Dining” is taking place through Dec. 24. The event will feature 24 days of short videos that highlight local stores and restaurants throughout downtown Greenwich, Old Greenwich, Byram, Glenville, Cos Cob and Riverside. Over 100 merchants are participating and sharing their holiday merchandise, gift ideas, festive wares, services, signatures dishes, celebratory cocktails, and more through fun videos broadcast on multimedia and digital platforms.
