(Maureen), Casner passed away on December 19th, 2020 at Edgehill, Stamford, CT, with her loving husband of 68 years, Stephen by her side. Maureen was born in New Haven, Connecticu­t, the second child of John and Elizabeth Forde Sullivan, and attended Sacred Heart and St. Francis grammar schools before graduating from St. Mary’s High School. She attended Gateway Community College.

Maureen was a dedicated preschool teacher and curriculum administra­tor with KinderCare Centers where she honed her special gifts for working with the “terrible” two-year old children. She had a passion for reading and was a member of many book clubs. Upon retiring with her husband to Ocala, Florida, she became a charter member of the Royal Oaks Golf Club and founder of the Women’s Nine Hole Group. She enjoyed the arts and was a season ticket holder of Ocala’s Community Theater. She enjoyed weekly games of Tiles and Bunco with her many friends and served her faith as a Eucharisti­c Minister.

She leaves her husband Stephen Casner, daughter Lauren Sinewitz of Boca Raton, Florida, son Stephen Casner, wife Jean from Basking Ridge, NJ, daughter Mary Walsh husband Timothy from Westport, CT. Survived by grandchild­ren Allison Kaye husband Max, Connor Walsh, David Sinewitz, and Margaret Walsh. Also survived by her devoted brother John J. Sullivan. Maureen was predecease­d by her sister Elizabeth Patterson and grandchild­ren Matthew, Christophe­r, and Inger Casner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 2nd at 10:00 a.m. at Christ The King Church, 4700 Madison Avenue, Trumbull, CT, Reverend Terrance P. Walsh (brother of Timothy) will officiate. The mass will be live streamed via the “CTK Livestream” link on the church’s website; www. Christthek­ingtrumbul­l.org Social distancing and masks will be required at the church.

Interment will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 280 Derby Ave., West Haven, CT 06516.
