Gennaro Catino, aged 69, a longtime resident of Stamford, passed away on December 23rd, 2020.

Born on December 4th, 1951, in Luogosano, in the province of Avellino, Italy, the son of the late Antonio and Amelia Catino. He came to this country in 1973 for a better life.

Gennaro served honorably in the Italian Army. He was employed by Pitney Bowes, and most recently as a security guard at the Stamford Government Center. Gennaro worked as a mechanic for Pitney Bowes for 33 years.

He was an avid outdoorsma­n with hobbies such as; hunting, fishing, clamming, and tending to his homegrown garden. In addition he enjoyed making his own wine, grappa, salame, tomato sauce, and of course his famous pizza.

Gennaro was also a huge soccer fan that enjoyed watching AC Milan, Napoli, and the Italian National Team play.

Gennaro is survived by his wife of 29 years, Yolanda, and their 2 children, Gennaro and Gabriella. He is also survived by his sister Luisa and her husband Fortunato Coppola, brother Tommaso and his wife Marisa Catino, sister Emmanuela and her husband Joe DiNardo and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28th from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue in Stamford followed by a Mass at Sacred Heart at 12:00 p.m. To leave an online condolence, please visit www. lacerenzaf­h.com.
