KEEP AN EYE ON

New avenues: UConn-DePaul will be the first women’s game ever televised by FOX.

“I’m sure there’s going to be a lot of people that … have never seen a women’s game on FOX, and they’re going to turn it on and be a little bit impressed by it and they’re going to want to know when the next one is,” UConn coach Geno Auriemma said. “You watch all the sports broadcasts that FOX does, it’s amazing.”

Responding to defeat: Can UConn bounce back from Thursday’s 90-87 loss to No. 19 Arkansas? History says yes. The Huskies haven’t dropped back-to-back games since the 1992-93 season — a span of 1,004 games.

The Huskies lost to Providence in the Big East tournament on March 7, 1993, then fell to Louisville 10 days later in the NCAA tournament.

Ready to run: Like Arkansas, DePaul likes to push the pace. The Blue Demons rank second in the country with 82.2 possessions per game and are eighth in scoring (85.2), one spot behind UConn (85.3). Only eight teams average more 3-point attempts than DePaul (28.3).

“The biggest emphasis is really going to be keeping people in front of us,” UConn guard Evina Westbrook said.

History lesson: UConn is 18-1 all-time against DePaul, including a 75-52 victory at Gampel Pavilion on Dec. 29. Ten of the last 12 meetings have been decided by 20 points or more. The Blue Demons’ lone win in the series was in 1983 — before Auriemma arrived in Storrs.
