Spencer Deane Wallin, died on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Edgehill in Stamford.

He was 87. He was born May 17, 1933 to Gustave and Emily Wallin in New Rochelle, NY where he was raised and educated. He was the youngest of three brothers - William and Richard.

He graduated from NYU College of Engineerin­g in 1955. He joined the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a Captain. After his service he was hired by Alvin Petroleum, which turned into Esso and then Exxon where he was an engineer for 34 years. He retired in 1992.

On August 10, 1963 he married Margery Roberta Beale and they had two children. He was a long time resident of Armonk, NY. He was a member of the Armonk United Methodist Church.

He lived at Edgehill in Stamford for the last seven years.

He found a true companion at Edgehill in Joan Weisman.

He served as the Chairman of the Welcoming Committee, Team Edgehill and was often referred to as the “Mayor”. He attended St. Johns Lutheran Church. He served on many committees and worked diligently at his charitable work with the Alzheimers Assoc., Pacific House and Stamford Hospital Bennett Cancer Center.

He loved to sing and he began in High School, NYU Glee Club and Chapel Choir,

The Golden Chordsmen and the Greenwich Choral Society. He was able to travel the world and visited many countries, even travelling to the North Pole. Spencer touched many lives and his gentlemanl­y manner, easy smile and warm heart will surely be missed.

He leaves to mourn his passing: His loving companion Joan, his son, Christophe­r and his wife Charis, his daughter Jessica and her husband Keith, four grandchild­ren, Matthew, Daniel, Alexander, Madeleine and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service was held on February 26, 2021 at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Home in Mt. Kisco, NY and he was laid to rest with military honors in Middle Patent Rural Cemetery in Bedford, NY next to his wife, Margery.

A memorial service will be held at St. Johns Lutheran Church at a future date.
