Howard brothers write about lives as child actors
Literary scene... Academy Award-winning filmmaker Ron Howard of Greenwich and his brother, actor Clint Howard, have written a joint memoir called “The Boys: A Memoir of Hollywood and Family.” The brothers detail their story of surviving life as sibling child actors. The book, slated for release in October, will feature a forward written by Ron Howard’s daughter, actor-filmmaker Bryce Dallas Howard. who grew up in town.
Scene… A virtual celebration called Spring for Abilis is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 1. The event, hosted by entertainer and comedian Brett Walkow, will feature special guests, including actors Brendan and Afton Fraser of Greenwich; musician Rob Mathes of Greenwich; singers Loren Allred and Sharon Catherine Brown; and dancers/choreographers

Coming soon… The Daily Cafe & Eatery, the first sister cafe of Aux Délices, is opening at 360 Greenwich Ave. at the former location of Juice Press. The all-day cafe and sandwich shop will offer patrons a selection of famous grab-and-go meals from Aux Délices, along with locally roasted coffee, freshly baked goods and hot breakfast sandwiches.

sporting goods store, which opened for business at 107 Greenwich Avenue in 2018, is closing its doors.
Scene… In honor of Earth Day, The Flinn Gallery and the Greenwich Library are offering a virtual “MoMA Tour & Talk of Broken Nature” at 1 p.m. Monday, April 19, presented by Paola Antonelli, senior curator in MoMA’s Department of Architecture & Design. The “Broken Nature” exhibition
highlights the concept of “restorative design” and presents objects and concepts of diverse strategies to help humans repair their relationship to the environment. Book talk... The Greenwich Library is featuring a virtual conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Elizabeth Kolbert and environmentalist Bill McKibben at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20.
