Darien’s Kevin Lindley tied a 39-year-old Loyola University men’s lacrosse record when he scored his 151st career goal during an 11-9 win over Georgetown on Thursday.

Lindley, a senior, will have a chance to take over the top spot in the record book when the Greyhounds host the US Naval Academy in the Patriot League quarterfinals at 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 4.

Gary Hanley had set the career goals mark while playing for the Greyhounds from 1978-82. Hanley is second in career assists (160) and points (311).

Entering the game against Georgetown in third place in career goals, Lindley scored twice to move ahead of former teammate Pat Spencer (2016-19), who had 149.

Lindley then tied Hanley’s mark on a goal with 11:38 remaining, putting Loyola ahead 9-7.

The Greyhounds are 7-5 and rebounded from a 1-3 stretch to win their last two games. They split two games with Navy during the regular season, winning 14-10 on April 3, and losing 14-12 on April 17.
