Caitlyn Jenner dines at the JHouse in Riverside

Scene…. Olympic gold medal-winning decathlete and TV personalit­y Caitlyn Jenner was seen dining at Tony’s at the JHouse in Riverside last Sunday afternoon. Jenner appeared on “CBS This Morning” last week with co-host Anthony Mason, where she talked about her run as a Republican for governor of California.

Out there… The Piano Project will be installed in downtown Stamford from 7:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday and Wednesday. The 25 donated pianos, which have been transforme­d into works of art by 25 artists, will be displayed on the streets and parks as part of Art in Public Places 2021. After the exhibit, the pianos will be auctioned, with a portion of the proceeds donated to benefit Project Music. The Piano Project runs through September. Out there… Westport Country Playhouse is featuring “Story Hour with Jenny,” an in-person interactiv­e reading of “Lubaya’s Quiet Roar” for children in grades K-3 at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 6, on the Playhouse campus. Jenny Nelson, director of education and community engagement at the Playhouse, will lead the one-hour session. She is the associate artistic director of Collective Consciousn­ess, a social justice theater in New Haven. Tickets for each “Story Hour with Jenny,” including picture book, activity packet, and crayons, start at $10. Out there… The Friends of Byram Shubert Library is holding a giant outdoor Book and Media Sale in the parking lot of St. Paul Lutheran Church on William

Street in Byram. The event begins with a preview from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 4, when patrons can fill a box for $60 with a $25 entrance fee. The book sale will continue from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 5 and from noon to 4 p.m. June 6, with no admission fee on the last two days. Memorial Day events… The Byram Veterans Associatio­n’s annual parade and ceremony takes place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, with the Glenville Volunteer Fire Department’s parade and ceremony at 5 p.m. The annual Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department parade kicks off on Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich at 10 a.m. Monday and proceeds to Binney Park for a ceremony.

Nearby events ... Stamford’s Memorial Day parade takes place on Sunday, beginning at Latham Park at 11:30 a.m. and ending at Veterans Memorial Park. Norwalk’s parade steps off at 10 a.m. from Veterans Memorial Park and ending at the Town Green on East Avenue.
