Dorothea Elizabeth Manegio of New Milford, CT passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 in Danbury, CT. She was 88 years old.

Dottie was born on January 15, 1933 to the late William and Marion Ryan.

Dottie is survived by her children Dottie (Tom) Campbell, Frank Manegio, Jr. (Katrina), Kathy (Dave) Brown, Joyce (Mark) Sternberg & Elizabeth McDonald (John Shea), 12 grandchild­ren and 1 great granddaugh­ter. Also surviving are her brotherin-law, Richard Manegio, Sr., and sister in laws, MaryAnn Scavera, Sandy Stevens and Joyce Ann Manegio, along with many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Dottie was predecease­d by her beloved husband of 63 years, Frank, Sr., as well as her daughter, Santa Manegio, Siblings Eleanor Allen and Marion Cooper and granddaugh­ter Kirsten Meyer.

Dottie received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Hunter College, Bronx, NY in June, 1956. While working at New York Bell, Dottie met Frank in their church choir in Yonkers, NY and they were married on September 15, 1956. Together they raised 5 children, starting their family in Yonkers, NY and then moving to Darien, CT. Together, they also establishe­d “Manegio Floor Covering” in Darien, CT. During this time, Dottie was a very active Parishione­r

and Choir Member at Saint John’s Church. She enjoyed singing with Frank in the Choir and was the Chairman, for a number of years, of the St. John’s Christmas Dove Program, which was part of Darien’s town wide church-sponsored effort to provide food and Christmas Cheer to the area’s needy families. After retiring from “Manegio Floor Covering’’, Frank and Dottie settled in New Milford, CT, in 2001.

A Mass of Christian Burial for both Dottie and Frank will be held on June 25th at 11:00am, at Saint Gregory the Great Church in Danbury, CT. The wearing of masks is requested for all who are attending.

In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the COVID 19 Solidarity Response Fund, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to “Donate Life Connecticu­t”, in Frank and Dottie’s names. Arrangemen­ts by the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford, CT.
