Music mogul Clive Davis spotted dining with friends
Scene… Chuck Scarborough and his wife Ellen who live in Stamford were seen eating at The Perfect Provenance on Arch Street in Greenwich last weekend. The popular lifestyle boutique and café owned by former Greenwich resident Lisa Lori will be missed as it is closing its doors this Sunday. Lori, who has relocated with her family to the West Coast, has opened two sister stores in Tiburon, Calif. and most recently Napa, Calif.
Out there… Off-Beat Players have announced their virtual Summer Musical Production of Godspell premiering on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Off-Beat Players currently includes approximately 40 teens and young adults who come together each summer at Greenwich Country Day School Performing Arts Center to produce a fully staged musical with a live orchestra. Scene… Greenwich resident and former lieutenant governor of New York Betsy McCaughey was seen shopping on Greenwich Avenue last week. McCaughey appears on a regular basis on Newsmax TV with Greg Kelly, host of “Greg Kelly Reports.”

Scene… Former Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter, host of the magazine’s celebrity-saturated annual Oscar soiree, was seen in conversation with journalist Marcia DeSanctis at the outdoor amphitheater at Spring Hills Vineyards in Washington, Conn. on July 29 as part of the inaugural Spring Hill Arts Gathering, aka SHAG Festival. Also Grammy-nominated singersongwriter Sophie B. Hawkins and Alex Newell (“Glee;” “Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist”) took the SHAG stage on July 31.
Out there… Westport Country Playhouse is streaming on demand its 2018 production of “Man of La Mancha,” directed by Playhouse artistic director Mark Lamos on Monday, Aug. 23 through Sunday, Sept. 5. The Tony Awardwinning musical follows Don Quixote’s quest for “The Impossible Dream.” Tickets for streaming individual productions start at $25. Scene… Bedford, N.Y. resident and music mogul Clive Davis was seen at L’Escale at the Delamar in Greenwich last weekend having dinner with WOR radio host Mark Simone; woman’s rights activist/philanthropist Francine LeFrak; director/ screenwriter Rick Friedberg; and interior designer Greg Schriefer.
Scene… The cast and crew of the HBO series “The Time Traveler’s Wife” were seen filming last month in nearby Purchase, N.Y. at Manhattanville College. The HBO series based on Audrey Niffenegger’s novel, stars “Game of Thrones” actor Rose Leslie and “Divergent’s” Theo James. Production also took place in Yonkers, N.Y. on Alexander Street and Dock Street and in Pleasantville, N.Y. at the Pleasantville Pharmacy, Nonna Square and at the 76 gas station.
Music… Billy & the Showmen Rhythm & Blues band will perform at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich on Wednesday, Aug. 18 at 7:15 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public. For more info, go to billyandtheshowmen.com
