Scene… Over 230 people attended the Greenwich Historical Society’s benefit at the Belle Haven Club in Greenwich honoring Barbara and Ray Dalio with the History in the Making Award for their exemplary philanthro­pic work. Indra Nooyi, previous honoree and former chair and CEO of PepsiCo, presented the award virtually along with Haley Rockwell Elmlinger, the historical society’s co-chair. The award features a thumbprint collage created by students at New Lebanon School. The evening including a Q&A interview with the Dalios conducted by historian David Rubenstein on their approach to philanthro­py. The Dalios emphasized the importance of supporting education by forging partnershi­ps with teachers in disadvanta­ged districts. The History in the Making Award was establishe­d in 2003 to recognize individual­s who are the history makers of our own time. Former awardees include Derek Boothby, Thomas Foley, Curt Welling, Marie and Charlene Von Saher, and Lewis Lehrman. It was the largest single fundraisin­g event in the historical society’s history. Scene… Rapper and fashion designer Kanye West was seen visiting Grace Farms, the humanitari­an and cultural center in New Canaan, on Oct. 8 with social media personalit­y Chris Smoove from the “How Much Does Your Fit Cost” videos. West and his soon-to-be-ex-wife Kim Kardashian West share four children together, and he was in the area to support her appearance on “Saturday Night Live.”

Scene… Filming for a new Disney movie is taking place in Connecticu­t. Scenes from the basketball movie “Chang Can Dunk” starring Chase Liefeld (from “Honor Student” and “Sunnyside Up”) and Bloom Li (of Awesomenes­s TV’s “My Dead Ex” and Hulu’s “Into the Dark”) will be filmed in Stamford and Stratford this month.

Out there… Bedford Playhouse in Bedford, N.Y., is hosting its annual gala called “Splendor in the Grass: Hollywood on the Green,” from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23. The evening of Hollywood glamour honoring John and Violaine Bernbach, will feature cocktails, dinner and dancing on the Bedford Village Green. Out there… The First Congregati­onal Church of Greenwich on Sound Beach Avenue will host its “Trunk or Treat” Halloween event from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.

Parents and children from throughout the community are invited to collect candy from the decorated car trunks of friends and neighbors in a fun, safe outdoor environmen­t.
