Last week to enter competition for ‘401(k) Champion’

-

The deadline to enter the competition for 401(k) champion, the only national award that recognizes successful 401(k) participation, is almost here.

The completion aims to encourage more education and discussion around 401(k) plans, help share the stories of champions, and help employers inform workers about retirement benefits.

Entrants must submit an essay explaining how they use their 401(k)s to save for retirement, as well as how they might encourage others to do the same. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, Oct. 28, at 401kchampion.com. Winners will take home one of three $1,000 prizes.

“A peer-to-peer message from one 401(k) participant to another can be more powerful than reading a brochure, attending an employee enrollment session, or trying to navigate an online tool,” said Julie Jason, founder of Jackson, Grant Investment Advisers, Inc., who created the award in 2018. “That’s what this award is all about — inspiring grassroots education and encouragement.”
