The stars came out around Greenwich in 2021

As we enter 2022, let’s take a look back at everyone who was seen in 2021 in Greenwich and beyond!

… Tony’s at the JHouse in Riverside, operated by Tony Capasso, welcomed many a notable name in the past year. Greg Kelly, host of “Greg Kelly Reports” on Newsmax TV, and his wife, Judith Grey, were seen having dinner there with WOR radio host Mark Simone, who lives in Greenwich. Greg and Judith welcomed a daughter Madeleine in December, sister to 2-year-old Annalise. Others seen dining there in 2021 also included Judge Marilyn Milian of “The People’s Court;” conservative media pundit Ann Coulter; TV personality Judge Jerry Springer of the reality court show “Judge Jerry;” Olympic gold medalist Caitlyn Jenner; former New York Yankees coach and Greenwich resident Lee Mazzilli; “This is Us” actor Justin Hartley, who was in town filming the Netflix drama “The Noel Diary,” and his co-star, actor James Remar from “Sex and the City;” Grammy Award-winning singer and Westport resident Michael Bolton; professional WWE wrestler Brock “The Beast” Lesnar; and NFL Network analyst Steve “Mooch” Mariucci and his wife, Gayle. And Grammy Award-winning rapper Lil Nas X stayed there overnight after performing during Rolling Loud New York at Citi Field.

… Kathie Lee Gifford, former co-host of “Today with Kathie Lee & Hoda” and a longtime Riverside resident, received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It’s just five stars away from longtime town resident, Regis Philbin, her co-host on “Live With Regis & Kathie Lee” who passed away in 2020.

… Bethenny Frankel, former star of Bravo TV’s “The Real Housewives of New York City,” was seen dining at La Taqueria on Greenwich Avenue and shopping at Funky Monkey with her daughter, Bryn. The Skinny Girl mogul was also seen boating on Long Island Sound, with her boyfriend Paul Bernon and former RHONY star Dorinda Medley.

. … Academy Awardwinning actor Christopher Plummer passed away in February at his home in Weston at the age of 91. Plummer starred as Capt. Georg von Trapp in the “The Sound of Music” alongside former Greenwich resident Kym Karath, who portrayed Gretl, the youngest of the von Trapp children, and lived in town until 2005.

… Actors Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain were seen shopping on Greenwich Avenue in May. Both were in the area to make the Netflix movie “The Good Nurse,” which shot many scenes in Stamford.

… “This is Us” star Justin

Hartley and his wife, former soap opera star Sofia Pernas, were seen at East End restaurant on Greenwich Avenue, dining and chatting with Sal Lobalbo of Lobalbo Auto Body in Stamford. Hartley was also seen dining at Hinoki, a Japanese restaurant on Greenwich Avenue, while he was in the area to film a Netflix movie.

… New York Yankees pitcher and Greenwich resident Gerrit Cole was seen having breakfast with his wife, Amy, outside The Granola Bar on Greenwich Avenue.

… Greenwich residents Judge Judy Sheindlin and Judge Jerry Sheindlin were seen dining outside at Le Penguin on Lewis Street in Greenwich. The dynamic duo was also seen dining at Polpo Restaurant in Greenwich.

… New Canaan resident Chris Russo , host of “Mad Dog Sports Radio” on SiriusXM, was seen getting his newspaper at Kean’s Korner Mobil on South Avenue in New Canaan.

… Stamford resident and former MLB great Bobby Valentine was seen signing copies of his new book “Valentine’s Way” at an event

hosted by Sky Mercede of Forever Sweet Bakery in Norwalk. Valentine was also seen at Jersey Mike’s Subs for its opening day festivities on High Ridge Road in Stamford.

… Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart of Katonah, N.Y., was seen dining at Truck in Armonk, N.Y. Stewart’s latest product, a ceramic replica of the 14-piece nativity set she produced while serving time at the Alderson federal prison camp 17 years ago for insider trading. Also seen at Truck over the Christmas holiday were award-winning actors Emily Blunt (of “Mary Poppins”) and John Krasinski (of “The Office”), with their with daughters, Hazel and Violet.

… Greenwich resident and YES Network host Michael Kay was spotted at the Cos Cob post office, looking to purchase stamps commemorating Yogi Berra, the great New York Yankee catcher and manager.

… Former New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly was seen dining at L’escale at the Delamar in Greenwich with his wife, Veronica Kelly, and son, Greg Kelly, host of “Greg Kelly Reports” on Newsmax

TV, and WOR radio host Mark Simone, conservative media pundit and lawyer Ann Coulter, philanthropist Francine LeFrak, and director/screenwriter Rick Friedberg; Others seen at the waterfront restaurant included FOX News contributor and former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany; and music mogul Clive Davis of Bedford, N.Y. Former NFL quarterback and “NBC Sunday Night Football” analyst Drew Brees enjoyed brunch there three Sundays in a row.

… Actor Richard Gere was seen at the Bedford Post Inn. The Pound Ridge, N.Y., resident co-owns the historic property, restaurant and inn on Old Post Road in Bedford, which opened in 2007.

… Comedian and actor Tracy Morgan was spotted at Charley’s Pier Restaurant & Tiki Bar at Rye Playland in Rye, NY.

… Rick Harrison of the History Channel’s “Pawn Stars” was seen eating breakfast at Joey B’s Restaurant in Cos Cob and chatting with owner Dom Delfino.

… Grammy Award-winner Alicia Keys, a singer, songwriter and pianist, was seen dining at Saltaire in Port Chester, N.Y.

… Actor and Fairfield resident Christopher Atkins was seen enjoying an ice cream cone at Dairy Queen in Fairfield.

... Acclaimed American fashion designer Christian Siriano was seen dining at Viva Zapata in Westport.

… Actor, playwright and Ridgefield resident Harvey Fierstein made a guest pop-up visit to the Ridgefield Playhouse.

and café owned by former Greenwich resident Lisa Lori closed its doors in the fall.

… Gov. Ned Lamont was seen having dinner with his wife, Annie, at Hinoki on Greenwich Avenue. They live in Greenwich home.

… Greenwich resident Betsy McCaughey, a former lieutenant governor of New York, was seen shopping on Greenwich Avenue.

… Actor/producer and Hallmark Channel film star Wes Brown was seen shopping at Walmart in Norwalk during the holidays.

… Rapper and fashion designer Kanye West was seen visiting Grace Farms, the humanitarian and culture center in New Canaan.

… Celebrity wedding planner and bridal fashion designer David Tutera was seen dining at Terra Ristorante on Greenwich Avenue.

… Darien resident and journalist Ashleigh Banfield, host of NewsNation’s “Banfield” was seen dining at 1020 Post in Darien.

…. Award-winning soap opera star Susan Lucci and her husband, chef/TV producer Helmut Huber, were seen celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary at The Homestead Inn in Greenwich. The restaurant and inn owned by Chef Thomas Henkelman and Theresa Carroll closed its doors on New Year’s Day.
