Iona hoop coach Pitino dines in Greenwich

Scene… Rick Pitino, head basketball coach for the Iona Gaels at Iona College in New Rochelle, N.Y., was seen dining at Tony’s at the J House in Riverside on Wednesday night.

Out there… La Cremailler­e in Banksville, N.Y., reopened this year with a new chef and a new look. The 70-year-old popular French restaurant closed in 2019 due to controvers­ial issues.

Scene… Fox News legal analyst and commentato­r Gregg Jarrett was seen shopping on Greenwich Avenue after Christmas with his wife and daughter.

Out there… Tickets are on sale now for the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens’ 2022 Gala Celebratin­g the Life of Gail Malloy, which takes place on March 10 at Rockrimmon Country Club in Stamford. Former Connecticu­t Gov. Dannel P. Malloy will serve as the master of ceremonies at the event honoring his sister who died in May. The evening will feature cocktails, dinner, and a silent auction. Scene… Greenwich resident John “Flip” Filippelli, executive producer and president of production and programmin­g at YES Network, was inducted in the Sports Broadcasti­ng Hall of Fame. Filippelli was the network’s first hire by team owner George Steinbrenn­er in 2001. Under Filippelli’s leadership, YES has earned 134 Emmy Awards. Along with his Hall of Fame induction, he was inducted into the Silver Circle by the Board of Governors of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, New York Chapter, in 2017 and was named Executive of the Year by New York University’s Sports Business Society in 2013.

Out there… “The Unsung Season: Gardens in Winter” online talk from the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens takes place from, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11. Scene… Partners Café & Pizzeria on Cove Avenue in Norwalk, owned and operated by the Spinola family for 40 years, closed its doors on Dec. 22. BJ Ryan’s in Norwalk will open a third location — BJ Ryan’s East — at the former location of the pizzeria in February.
