Clive Davis dines in Westport

Scene… Bedford, N.Y., resident and music mogul Clive Davis was seen having dinner at Gabriele’s of Westport at Powers Court last week. The steakhouse adjacent to the Westport Country Playhouse is owned by Greenwich resident and native Danny Gabriele, former owner of Gabriele’s Italian Steakhouse in Greenwich. The popular spot which opened last fall previously housed the former restaurant The Dressing Room which was owned by the late actor Paul Newman, who lived in Westport.

Out there… The Country Table at 1 Glenville Street in the Glenville section of Greenwich celebrated its grand opening on Jan. 10. Formerly the home of Watson’s Catering, the market is a joint venture of lifelong friends, chef Geoff Lazlo and Greg Oshins, and offers everything from breakfast sandwiches, French pastries, gourmet sandwiches, made-to-order salads to ice cream and coffee from Path Coffee Roasters in Port Chester, N.Y. Scene… Actor Richard Gere has put his 50-acre estate and 19-room mansion in Pound Ridge, N.Y., up for sale with a $28 million asking price. The 72-year-old actor and owner of The Bedford Post in Bedford, N.Y., has lived on the vast estate for over 20 years with his former wife, actress Carey Lowell, and their son Homer, and with his new wife, Spanish publicist Alejandra Silva and their two young children. Gere and Silva have already moved to a brick Georgian manor in nearby North Salem, N.Y., that they purchased for $9.8 million a year ago. The 9,064square-foot mansion, built in 1934 for Woolworth heir Richard W. Woolworth, sits on 26 acres.

Out there… Greenwich native, Episcopal priest, psychother­apist and bestsellin­g author Ian Cron and Deborah Royce, a Riverside resident and author of the psychologi­cal thrillers “Finding Mrs. Ford” and “Ruby Falls,” will go head to head in an author-to-author conversati­on at 6 p.m. Jan. 26, at Christ Church’s Parish Hall in Greenwich. The in-person talk, “The Story of You: How to Become the Person You Were (Before the World Got Its Hands On You),” is free and can also be viewed via live-streamed. Out there… The Breast Cancer Alliance’s virtual live-stream poker tournament in partnershi­p with Poker4Life takes place at 8 p.m. Jan. 27. Scene… Former Vogue editor-at-large André Leon Talley, who died last week at age 73, had lived in White Plains, N.Y., since 1999. The 6-foot-6inches-tall fashion journalist and former creative director and editor of Vogue was a fixture at City Limits Diner on Central Avenue in White Plains.
