Gold for Jacobellis; country star coming to Stamford

Scene… Roxbury resident Lindsey Jacobellis won another Olympic gold medal this week, this time while competing in mixed team snowboard cross. Last week she won gold in women’s snowboard cross. The 36-year-old Stratton Mountain School graduate made her Olympic debut at the 2006 games in Turin, Italy, where she won the silver medal in women’s snowboard cross. She is also a 10-time snowboard cross champion at the X Games.

Out there… Combining cooking and cocktailin­g to benefit the Greenwich community, Chef Geoff Lazlo, Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, Starr Films and the Greenwich United Way have teamed up once again for One Table One Town.

The event on Feb. 24 is both in-person and virtual. Attendees can dine at The Country Table, 1 Glenville St, Greenwich, or pick up their meal (and wine) to enjoy at home. Out there… The Byram Veterans Associatio­n on Delavan Avenue in Greenwich is holding a benefit concert with Connecticu­tbased band Six2GO on Feb. 19 from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. There is a $10 cover charge. And 100 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Hudson Valley Honor Flight, a nonprofit organizati­on that honors veterans by transporti­ng them to Washington, D.C., to visit memorials at no cost to them. Out there… The Palace Theatre in Stamford is featuring a concert with award-winning country singer Chris Janson on Friday at 8 p.m. Shane Profitt will open the show, followed by Ray Fulcher and then Janson. Out there… The Greenwich Historical Society on Strickland Road in Cos Cob is holding a Curator Gallery Talk, “Cos Cob’s Lower Landing Through Artists’ Eyes,” on Feb. 23 at noon with Maggie Dimock, curator of exhibition­s and collection­s. The gallery talk is based on the recently acquired painting, “The Red Mill, Cos Cob,” by renowned 19th-century American impression­ist Childe Hassam during his first visit to the Holley family boarding house in Cos Cob.
