Robert “Bob” Farrell Sr.

Robert Farrell Sr., 99, passed away on April 28, 2022, to be reunited with his loving wife, Marie. He was born in Stamford on April 10, 1923, daughter of Peter and Edna (Luker) Farrell and lived there 53 years before moving his family to New Milford in 1976.

Bob was a graduate of Wright Tech in Stamford and a veteran and POW in the United States Army Airforce. Before leaving Stamford, he worked as a tool & die maker at PerkinElme­r, Norma Hoffman, Stamford Tool & Die and Diecraft Tool of Springdale. Mr. Farrell leaves 12 children and their spouses: Eileen and Loren Lettick of Chocowinit­y, North Carolina; Kathleen and Paul Tessitore of York, South Carolina; Colleen and William Serreno of Charleston, South Carolina; Maureen and Keith Schlegel of Hilton Head, South Carolina; Noreen and Robert Raus of Monroe; Pegeen and Rick Nelson of Acworth, Georgia; Thomas and Veronica Farrell of Summerfiel­d, North Carolina; William and Allison Farrell of Washington Depot; John and Becky Farrell of New Milford; Peter and Allyson Farrell of Litchfield; and Terrence and Renee Farrell of Goshen. Bob was preceded in death by Marie (Koch) Farrell, his wife of 70 years, three sons, Robert Jr., Christophe­r, and Michael, as well as two grandchild­ren, Luke and Kaitlyn. He is also survived by his numerous grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. Mr. Farrell was the last surviving member of his own brothers, James and Peter and his sisters Edna, Dorothy, Edith, and Anna Ruth.

Mr. Farrell, a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and former owner of Farrell Precision in New Milford, will be remembered for his devotion to his large family, his generosity, his warm sense of humor, and a loyal commitment to the game of golf.

Friends and family may call at Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 from 4- 7 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Mr. Farrell’s life will take place on Thursday, at 10am on May 5, 2022 at Saint Francis Xavier Church, 26 Chestnutla­nd Road, New Milford. Interment will be private in St. John Cemetery,

Darien. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Farrell’s memory to the New Milford Parks and Recreation, 2 Pickett District Road, New Milford, CT 06776.
