Marie Frances Nuelle of Stamford, CT, passed into new life peacefully at home on July 20, 2022, at the age of 98. Born June 30, 1924, in Binghamton, NY, Marie was the daughter of the late Paul Hugh Le Strange and Elizabeth (Kelly) Le Strange. After graduating from Binghamton Central High School, she was employed by IBM in Endicott, NY. She married Frank B. Nuelle on January 31, 1953, and they were happily married for 68 years until Frank passed away in June 2021. Together, they raised five children.

Marie is survived by her children, Frank J. Nuelle of Naugatuck, CT, Kathleen N. Usher of Satellite Beach, FL, Mark T. Nuelle and his wife Bernadette of Newtown, CT and their two sons, Christophe­r of Portland, OR and Sean of Queens, NY, and Philip K. Nuelle of Stamford and his children, Anabelle of Charlottes­ville, VA, Conor of Charleston, SC, and Skyler of Charlottes­ville, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Marie was predecease­d by her son, Paul Edward Nuelle; three sisters, Lucille M. Quinlivan, Elizabeth O’Neil, and Rita Le Strange; three brothers, Reverend Paul T. Le Strange, Michael Stanley Le Strange, and Lewis Le Strange; as well as beloved members of her extended family. Marie was also predecease­d by Raymond Nelson of Stratford, CT, for whom she was his legal guardian.

Throughout her life, Marie was active in her faith and her church. While a member of St Cecilia’s Parish in Stamford, CT, she performed as a Sacristan from 1970 through 1987. She was one of the first Special Ministers appointed by Bishop William Curtis in 1984 and continued to serve for 28 years. She enjoyed her Irish heritage as a member of the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians in Stamford. In her younger years, Marie was an avid tennis player and enjoyed spending time on the court with her friends.

Marie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmothe­r. She never missed a chance to attend a family gathering, enjoyed her family stopping by for a visit, and always managed to share her endearing joyful laugh with all. She was a constant, supportive presence within her family. She will be dearly missed.

Friends may call at the Thomas M Gallagher Funeral Home at 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford, CT 06902, Sunday, July 24th 4:00pm – 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 25th at 10:30am at the Church of St Cecilia, 1184 Newfield Avenue, Stamford, CT. Interment to follow at the Queen of Peace Cemetery, 124 Rockrimmon Road, Stamford, CT 06903.
