Gary Dell’Abate supports Greenwich Wine + Food; Pundit James Carville seen at Greenwich Cigar
Scene… Democratic pundit and political consultant James Carville, chief strategist of President Bill Clinton, was seen chatting with Greenwich resident Blaise Punturo of Sotheby's International Realty at Greenwich Cigar & Stationery on Railroad Avenue on Monday morning. Carville is married to Republican political consultant Mary Matalin, well known for her work with President Ronald Reagan, on President George H. W. Bush's campaign, and as assistant to President George W. Bush and advisor to Vice President Dick Cheney.

Scene… Greenwich Wine + Food wrapped up its 10th anniversary celebration with "The Big Easy" at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. on March 4, bringing the flavors of New Orleans to life with a grand tasting dinearound from area chefs, iconic drinks from Bourbon Street and the music of headliner Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Big Head Todd & the Monsters and Dumpstaphunk featuring Cyril Neville. Longtime supporter of Greenwich Wine + Food, Gary "Baba Booey" Dell’Abate ("The Howard Stern Show" producer) served as one of the evening's emcees alongside Suni Unger, founder and CEO of Unger Media, the parent company behind Greenwich Wine + Food and Serendipity
magazine. Legendary New Orleans chef/restaurateur Dickie Brennan was honored for his contributions to the culinary world, and chef Michel Nischan (Bridgeport-based nonprofit Wholesome Wave) and caterer to the stars Mary Giuliani (Mary Giuliani Catering & Events) were special guest attendees. The event benefited two national nonprofit organizations with roots in Connecticut: The Jacques Pépin Foundation and Wholesome Wave. Scene… Author, tech journalist and CNBC contributor Rebecca A. Fannin will visit the Ferguson Library in Stamford on March 21, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Fannin will discuss her latest book “Silicon Heartland: Transforming the Midwest from Rust Belt to Tech Belt,” an optimistic look at the entrepreneurial comeback of the Midwest. Fannin is the author of Silicon Dragon,” “Startup Asia” and “Tech Titans of China” and founder of Silicon Dragon Ventures, a media and events platform focused on startup investment. Out there... The Greenwich Historical Society's new exhibition "Sports! More Than Just a Game" is a series of events aimed at developing a
deeper understanding of sports and their impact on culture and society. The exhibit kicks off March 16 with a lecture by Neal J. Powless from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Powless, a member of the Onondaga Nation, will share a detailed history of the Indigenous roots of lacrosse and discuss the game's significance and importance today. He is an All-American, AllWorld and professional champion lacrosse player, and the first Indigenous head coach to a European national team, the Dutch National Lacrosse Team, as well as an international public speaker, and the current ombudsman for Syracuse.
