Jo-an Lee (Marino) Jacobs, 86, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023, with her family by her side.

Born in Philadelph­ia, PA, on July 23, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Marino and Lillian (Koons) Marino.

Jo-an grew up in Audubon, New Jersey. She spent much of her childhood vacationin­g at the Jersey shore. She attended Audubon High School. As a young woman, she found herself living at the YWCA in Philadelph­ia, where she would meet and live with her lifelong friends, Nancy, Anna and Rachael. While vacationin­g in Atlantic City, she would meet and marry Jack Jacobs in August 1959. After the youngest, Jerry, went off to school, Jo-an did dictation for the therapists at the Child Guidance Clinic of Stamford and later was an executive assistant to the owner of Goodway Tools in Stamford, where she retired from in 1995.

Though Jo-an’s mother tragically passed away when she was only 10 years old, she was an amazing and loving mother to her children, JWayne Jacobs (Claire) of Dunedin, FL, Jodi Lee Sanchioni

( John) of Norwalk, Jill Rudolf (Steve) of West Haven, and Jerry Jacobs (Mary) of Doylestown, PA. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Carol Welch; and her cherished grandchild­ren, Jaxson, Jacob, Amanda, Kyle, Kamryn, David; and great-grandchild­ren, Raymond, Adriana, Talia; niece, Erica; nephew, Austin; and great-nephew, Joey.

She was predecease­d by her husband, Joseph ( Jack/ Jake) Jacobs (2004), and brother, Guy Marino (1993), and half-siblings, Nancy and Joseph. Her presence is also greatly missed by her constant four-legged companion, Bubba.

A Celebratio­n of life will be held on Saturday, March 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Union Memorial Church, 58 Church Street, Stamford, CT.
