Eileen T. Chapell, 89, of Stuart, passed away on January 6, 2024, in the Memory Care Unit of Discovery Village in Stuart, Florida.

Funeral services will be held privately with family members only in attendance.

Eileen was born in Stamford, CT, to Rose Fanning Sheridan and Theodore George Sheridan on January 20, 1934. She graduated from Stamford High School. She married her husband of 60 years, Bob Chapell, on June 8, 1963 in Stamford, CT. Eileen and Bob were members of Star of the Sea R.C. Church and the Stamford Yacht Club until their retirement in 1998 when they moved to Stuart, Florida, and joined St. Christophe­r’s R.C. Church and the Stuart Corinthian Yacht Club.

Eileen is preceded in death by her mother, Rose Sheridan, father, Theodore George Sheridan, sisters, Rosemarie Boucher and Patricia Kane, brothers, T. George, Shaun and Bernard Sheridan

Eileen is survived by her spouse, Robert S. Chapell, Sr.; her children, Robert S. Chapell, Jr. (Karen), Richard S. Chapell, Alan P. Chapell (Maria) and Michael S. Chapell (Eileen); her grandchild­ren, Amber Myers ( Jack), Keily Madison-Chapell, Alanna Chapell, Robert S. Chapell, III, Julia Chapell, Michael S. Chapell, Jr., Rose Chapell; and her greatgrand­children, Hudson Myers and Hayden Myers.

Eileen’s nature was loving and open. She was always willing to offer a helping hand to others, especially her children and grandchild­ren. She encouraged them to succeed in their education and become successful in their careers. Her love of things Irish and especially Irish dancing encouraged three of her grandchild­ren to become world-class Irish dancers.

A celebratio­n of life will be held on a date to be determined.
