Todd Boehly dines at Il Leone in Greenwich
Scene…Todd Boehly, co-founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Eldridge Industries in Greenwich, was seen having dinner with his wife Katie at Il Leone Italian Restaurant and Bar in the Glenville section of Greenwich recently. Boehly is also chairman and owner of Chelsea Football Club and an owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Los Angeles Sparks, and Cloud9.
Out there… The Greenwich Historical Society's new exhibition “LIFE: Six Women Photographers” debuts Wednesday. LIFE magazine's photographers enabled the public “to see life; to see the world; to eyewitness great events,” as described by the magazine's founder and editor-in-chief Henry Luce, a long-time Greenwich resident who died in 1967. The exhibition includes over 70 photographs by Margaret BourkeWhite (1904-1971), Marie Hansen (1918-1969), Mar
tha Holmes (1923-2006), Lisa Larsen (ca. 19251959), Nina Leen (ca. 1909-1995) and Hansel Mieth (1909-1998). A series of lectures, workshops and discussions, film screenings and other activity related to the exhibition will be presented throughout the duration of the exhibition, which ends on July7. Out there… The Cos Cob Library is celebrating Irish Heritage on Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. with a guest performance by The Sunday Morning Boys, the preeminent traditional Irish band in Fairfield and Westchester counties. The band will entertain the crowd with traditional Irish and Celtic Folk tunes from the likes of The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers, and The Wolfe Tones ,as well as contemporary artists from the genre like Gaelic Storm and Sharon Shannon. Scene… The Westport Library featured a talk with Dr. Clarence B. Jones in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Day. Jones, who was introduced by novelist and screenwriter Trey Ellis, shared memories of his best friend with the audience. Westport resident and NBC "Today" show co-host Craig Melvin moderated the event, which was attended by TV producer Shonda Rhimes ("Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice," "Scandal"), U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-CT, and U.S. Rep. Ritchie Torres.
