Stamford Police Officer Lindsey Yanicky was recently awarded the Traffic Safety Hero award by AAA Northeast.

At its ninth annual Traffic Safety lunch at Testo’s restaurant in Bridgeport, AAA Northeast gave the award to Yanicky, who was recognized for her work in a department program that uses incentives in the form of gift cards to pedestrians who are “caught” complying with appropriate safety rules when crossing Stamford streets.

Yanicky has issued more tickets than any other department officer to drivers who’ve failed to grant rights of way to pedestrians.
