Jean Margaret Davis, 88, of Florida, and a former resident of Norwalk and Stamford passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 29, 2018 in FL. She was born in Stamford on September 26, 1930 to the late William J. and Anna Boyle Murphy.

Jean was a graduate of Sacred Heart Academy of Stamford, Class of 1948 and of Short’s Secretaria­l School. She was a member of the Ancient Order of the Hibernians, St Joseph’s Rosary Society of Norwalk and also was an active volunteer for the Norwalk Family and Children’s Services of Norwalk. Jean was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus of Venice, FL and the Elks and Moose Lodge, FL.

Jean is survived by her loving children, Mary Jean Leahy and her husband Michael of CA, Patricia J. Falvey and her husband Andrew of CT, James M. Davis of FL and Michael P. Davis of FL. Also surviving is her sister, Joan Potts of FL and six grandchild­ren and three great grandchild­ren.

Besides her parents, Jean was predecease­d by her husband, James P. Davis in 2001 and two brothers, William and Daniel J. Murphy and her sister, Ann Flannery.

A funeral procession will be leaving the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Stamford at 10:10 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s RC Church , 566 Elm Street, Stamford. Interment will follow at St. John’s RC Cemetery, Darien. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 4:007:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jean’s memory to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 425 So. Tamiami Trail, Osprey, FL 34229
