Marketing expert in Norwalk
Areal estate pro with a marketing background, Paul Thury has been one of Norwalk’s go-to agents for more than two decades.
Thury started his real estate career 22 years ago with Prudential Connecticut Realty and moved to Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices New England Properties when they bought out Prudential about five years ago. Thury, who was in media and marketing sales for 11 years and prior to that the advertising agency side, received a degree in marketing from Fordham University.
“I had always thought about doing real estate,” said Thury, who was Realtor of the Year in 2008 for the Mid-Fairfield County Association, which includes about 1,200 members. “I was doing things like real estate, but just with different products. I used to market consumer products and airlines and fast food. Now I market homes.”
A people person, Thury said he’s the right person for someone who is looking for a Realtor “with experience, who knows the market and can use my degree in marketing.”
“I like the idea of solving problems for people,” said Thury, who previously lived in Norwalk for 15 years. “It is very satisfying for me to educate someone on one of the most important transactions they will make in their life.”
Thury said he prides himself on treating all clients the same no matter the price-point.
“I love that ‘ Thank You’ from the client,” he said. “It gives me satisfaction I just can’t get anywhere else. I feel like I am making a difference in someone’s life, whether it be someone who is renting an apartment or buying a multi-million-dollar home.”
Thury, who covers Westport, Wilton and Stamford with most of his business in Norwalk, said working for Berkshire Hathaway and specifically Norwalk office leader Nancy Pantoliano, makes his job that much easier.
“Nancy, in my opinion, has always been the star in the company,” Thury said. “She’s very in tune with marketing techniques and she excels at educating her agents.”
