Former WFAN host guilty of ticket scam

Stamford Advocate - - Business -

After a one-week trial, a federal jury in New York found former WFAN and CBS Radio host Craig Carton guilty of defrauding investors in a ticket reselling scheme. Prosecutors said Carton touted his influence in buying blocks of tickets to major live events to be resold at a profit, then spent $7 million he collected to cover gambling and personal expenses. Mark Varacchi of Norwalk and Steven Simmons of Wilton had previously pleaded guilty in connection with the case.
