Realtor makes it easy for seniors
An experienced Realtor with more than two decades of experience behind her, Nancy Manby loves showing off her native Norwalk, especially to seniors and first-time home buyers.
Manby, who has spent her entire 23-year career as a Realtor with William Raveis Real Estate, has a niche market of working with seniors. It’s working with that population, she said, that gives her immense joy.
“I love working with seniors and their families to downsize,” said Manby, who worked in the agency side of marketing consumer products prior to jumping over to real estate. “It’s a family effort when seniors leave their family homestead. I have a soft spot for them. They are often fearful because this is what they’ve known for their whole life or a good part of their life. It’s very stressful and emotional and my job is to make that transaction as stress-free as possible for them and their family.”
Manby covers much of lower Fairfield County with an emphasis on Norwalk.
“I can give my breadth of knowledge,” she said. “I’d challenge any agent to know more than I do of my market area. I take great pride in that.”
In addition, Manby said, she is always learning, which benefits both her and her clients.
“I continually educate myself in the real estate industry and my market specifically,” she said. “I do training courses and stay abreast of the technological changes in the industry. Real estate is an ever
evolving industry and you need to be on top of it, or else you can’t service your consumer properly. The days of treating this as a part-time job are over.” Norwalk, she said, is an easy sell.
“A lot of surrounding towns come into Norwalk for their enjoyment, whether it’s our great restaurants, shopping, our fabulous beach and parks or SoNo (South Norwalk),” Manby said.
Manby is an avid golfer, a hopeful chef and a fitness enthusiast. She also enjoys spending time with her 25-year-old son.
