Athletes to watch: There is a strong Connecticut presence in the New England boys meet with depth and highly-seeded athletes in just about every event. In the 55-meter dash, Keith Berrouet of SMSA qualified as the No. 2 seed with a time of 6.42 seconds, Korey Morton of McMahon is No. 3 (6.46) and Michael Rodia of Shelton is No. 9 (6.52). In the
shot put, Michael Campbell of Bloomfield is the No. 2 seed (58 feet, 6.5 inches), Davon Colon of Xavier is No. 6 (54-8), Gary Moore Jr. of Hillhouse is No. 19 (51-2.75) and Marcus Ramsey of Hall is No. 20 (51-0). In the 1-mile run, Jack Martin of Avon is the No. 3 seed (4:20.66), Alec Sauter of Tolland is No. 5 (4:21.95), Azaan Dawson of Fairfield Prep is No. 10 (4:24.27) and Austin Hutchins of Fairfield Warde is No. 13 (4:25.03). In the 300, Caleb Owen of Wilbur Cross is the No. 4 seed (35.22) and Jason Laurent of Shelton is No. 6 (35.45). In the 1000, Rhys Hammond of Stonington is the No. 1 seed (2:28.66) and Matthew Jennings of Haddam-Killingworth is No. 3 (2:29.56). In the 600, Peter Diebold of Weston is the No. 3 seed (1:21.37) and Ryan Farrell of Cheshire is No. 8 (1:23.54). Long distance standout Gavin Sherry of Conard is the No. 1 seed (8:57.57) in the 2-mile run and the only runner seeded with a time under 9 minutes. The No. 2 seed is Aidan Puffer of Manchester (9:02.38), a familiar rival for Sherry who both compete in the Central Connecticut Conference. Other top Connecticut competitors in individual events are John Macfarlane of Masuk, the 19th seed in the 55 hurdles (7.77), Dylan Torok of Masuk is the No. 8 seed in the high jump (6-4) and Javan Guevara-Cragwell of Derby is the No. 3 seed in the long jump (22-2.5). In the relays, in the
4x200, Wilbur Cross is the No. 9 seed (1:32.18), Law is No. 11 (1:33.13) and McMahon is No. 12 (1:33.23). In the 4x400, Glastonbury is No. 9 (3:30.39), Hand is No. 10 (3:30.77) and Darien is No. 11 (3:30.82). Sean DixonBodie of Bloomfield, a standout in the long jump and high jump, has decided to skip the New England meet and rest for the National meet (March 13-15, The Armory, New York).

Athletes to watch: Like the boys, Connecticut has a strong presence in the New England girls meet with high seeds and depth in most of the events. Tess Stapleton of Fairfield Ludlowe has the potential to be a double winner in the meet as the top seed in both the 55 hurdles (8.04) and the long jump (19 feet, 6 inches). Another strong athlete in the 55 hurdles is Shelby Dejana of Wilton, who is the 11th seed (8.58). Other strong athletes in the long jump include No. 2 seed Chelsea Mitchell of Canton (19-0.75) and No. 8 seed Mariella Schweitzer of Barlow (17-10). The
2-mile run has a solid Connecticut presence with top seed Chloe Scrimgeour of Conard (10:51.48), No. 4 seed Mari Noble of Greenwich (11:01.07), No. 8 seed Elizabeth Stockman of Rocky Hill (11:14.21) and No. 9 seed Ava Graham of Bethel. Connecticut has depth in the shot put with top seed Alliyah Boothe of Bloomfield (44-11), No. 2 seed Trinity Cardillo of Southington (43-4.75), No. 3 seed Leah Moore of Hillhouse (43-2.50) and No. 11 seed Natalie Rolon-Issa of Bacon Academy (38.65). There also is Connecticut depth in the 600 with top seed Elsa Martin of Simsbury (1:35.66), No. 4 seed Molly Harding of Glastonbury (1:36.55), Olivia Dubuc of Sheehan is No. 7 (1:37.04), Emma Langis of Ridgefield is No. 11 (1:37.93) and Emily Alexandru of Trumbull is No. 12 (1:38.10). In the 300, Nyia White of Wilbur Cross is the No. 5 seed (40.60), Samantha Forrest of Glastonbury is No. 6 (40.71) and Mariella Schweitzer of Barlow is the No. 7 seed (40.93). In the 1000, Julia Rosenberg of Weston is the No. 7 seed (2:59.64) and Grace Hanratty of Old Saybrook is No. 9 (3:01.94). In the 55 dash, Chelsea Mitchell of Canton is the top seed (7.15) and Kedarjah Lewis of Haddam-Killingworth is No. 5 (7.31). In the high jump, Sydney Garrison of Southington is the No. 2 seed (5-6) and Tianna St. Louis of Tolland is No. 7 (5-4). In the 1-mile run, Jenna Zydanowicz of Hall is the No. 4 seed (5:03.98). In the relays, in the
4x800 Greenwich is the No. 3 seed (9:28.55), Immaculate is the No. 4 seed (9:30.59) and Hall is No. 5 (9:30.91). In the 4x400, Glastonbury is the No. 2 seed (4:01.36) and Weston is No. 4 (4:02.47).
