‘The moral decay of mankind’

-

A great deal of press has been presented in the media recently, including the Stamford Advocate, regarding endangerment and protection of the denizens of the animal kingdom. Articles regarding the plight of the polar bear, trophy animals from Africa, and even horseshoe crabs have been published. Also, in the past few years there has been attention given locally to how and why humans have to coexist with the hawks, black bears, coyotes, and the feral cats and dogs that freely roam our neighborhoods.

Animals and the environment are receiving top billing in the media these days, yet little, if no attention is being paid to the ongoing steady and rapid deterioration of our moral environment. While our society pays rapt attention to the carcass of a dead whale that washes up on a deserted beach, little, if nothing, is mentioned about the continued practice of abortion that continues to infect this country killing one generation at a time. Nothing is said about the recent New York state legislation legalizing the barbaric practice of infanticide or the recent action of several states, including Connecticut, to legalize doctor assisted euthanasia.

This deterioration of our moral environment is not about global warming, it is about the deterioration and moral decay of mankind. This is not to say that mankind should not have love, respect, and care for all creatures great and small, but from the beginning of time the animal kingdom has managed to survive on its own despite natural disasters, and man’s encroachment on its environment. Although the political issues of abortion in regards to Roe vs Wade does manifest itself in the media, little is written about the sanctity and preservation of life both in and out of the womb.

Because of the sensitivity of this subject, most news syndicates are afraid to touch it. The creator gave man free choice. Because of this, man is the superior being, the animal kingdom being subordinate. To coexist with the animal kingdom is one thing, to prioritize the animal kingdom over human procreation and the survival of mankind is another.

Our society, as we tackle the global problems of the environment, politics, trade, food, and immigration, is faced with a question of priorities. Those priorities are ensuring mankind’s survival by respecting human life, and eradicating the moral decay in this country. The cats and dogs will take care of themselves.
