Movie starring A-list actors to film on Morgan, Beal streets

- By Veronica Del Valle

STAMFORD — Filming for Stamford’s latest foray into the movie biz is officially here, but not in one of the city’s hot spots.

Instead, crews for Netflix’s “The Good Nurse” will post up in some of Stamford’s less noisy enclaves just outside of downtown, namely on Morgan Street and Beal Street.

The movie will shoot on Morgan Street on Thursday and Friday. Production will move to Beal Street from April 20 until April 23, and will resume on April 26, said city spokesperson Arthur Augustyn. Filming times will run from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m., according to signs posted by the film crew.

Roads will remain mostly open during filming, according to interim Traffic

Bureau Chief Frank Petise. However, on-street parking will be prohibited during filming days.

“We are working in full cooperation with the City of Stamford as well as the support of the local PD,” read a leaflet posted on Morgan Street. “Your cooperation will help to make this location shoot a success.”

“The Good Nurse” stars actor Eddie Redmayne as prolific serial killer Charles Cullen, who murdered at least 40 people in New Jersey and Pennsylvania while working as a critical care nurse. Actress Jessica Chastain plays the nurse that helped police catch Cullen after 16 years of sudden terminations, hospital internal investigations, and suspicions.

Even though Cullen confessed to 40 murders, some experts estimate his true body count to be much larger. Those with intimate knowledge of the murders believe Cullen had more than 300 victims, making him one of the most prolific serial killers in modern history.
