Stamford High’s new assistant principal comes from Dolan.

STAMFORD — Stamford High School’s administration team is now complete a week before classes kick off.

Crystal Perry-Holden, the former assistant principal at Dolan Middle School, was named assistant principal of SHS, taking a spot left vacant by Matt Forker, who recently took over as head principal of the school in the wake of Ray Manka’s resignation.

Perry-Holden will start in her new role on Aug. 25. Classes begin on Aug. 30.

The new Stamford High assistant principal served in the same role at Dolan for the past eight years. Previously, Perry-Holden was an English and drama teacher at Stamford High from 2002 to 2009. During that time, she was also chair of the English department at the school.

Perry-Holden grew up in Stamford, attending Cloonan Middle School, and graduating from the former Rippowam High School. She holds a bachelor of fine arts from Howard University, a master of science in education and a sixth year certification in school administration from the University of Bridgeport.

According to a press release from Stamford schools, the educator and administrator has amassed numerous community service and arts awards, including the Yerwood Hearts of the Community award in education, the Stamford Center for the Arts artistic leader award and an award from the Connecticut Office of the Treasurer.
