Peter Christian Wiese, age 86, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2021. Prior to moving to Georgia in 2020 to be near one of his daughters, he lived in Stamford, CT and owned an investment management company in Westport, CT. He was born on June 14, 1935, in New York City, NY, to Otis and Josephine Wiese. He was the eldest of four children, Jeffrey, Linda, and Susan. He grew up in Yorktown Heights, NY, attended Phillips Andover Academy, and Princeton University where he was a member of the CAP and Gown Club and earned a B.A. in Economics.

Upon graduating in 1957, he married Virginia Carden Dorr and they had four children, Christiane, Virginia, Russell, and Peter III. He worked for Mobil Oil Company early in his career, which took his young family to Geneva, Switzerlan­d and Paris, France. When he returned to New York, his career changed to finance. He held officer positions in investment management and marketing at Merrill Lynch/White Weld & Co., and Oppenheime­r & Co. He was also a Principal and Portfolio Manager of J. Bush & Co. Inc., a New York based investment firm founded by Jonathan Bush, brother of President George H. W. Bush. In 1994, Mr. Wiese founded Wiese Capital Management, Inc., an SEC registered investment advisory firm in Westport, CT, where he worked until he retired in 2020. He also had a keen interest in the arts where he co-produced two Broadway shows-The John Curry Ice Dancing Show and Marcel Marceau on Broadway. He had a passion for travelling and sports, which took him hiking in the Himalayas, skiing in the Alps, into the depths of the Amazon, and fishing with his brother in Montana. In addition, he extensivel­y explored the US, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.

Peter Wiese is survived by his beloved children and their spouses, and grandchild­ren, Christiane and Kurt Wyckoff, Spencer, Carden and Virginia of Marietta, GA, Virginia and Doug Sesler, Russell and Julia of Bronxville, NY, Russell and Megan Wiese, Bryson, Owen and Caroline of New York, NY, and Peter and Deborah Wiese III, Hannah and Mason, of Reading, MA. and his ex-wife, Virginia Maxwell, of Sleepy Hollow, NY. He is also survived by his loving brother and sister-inlaw, Jeffrey and Christiane Wiese, of Oxnard, CA, and devoted cousins, George “Steve” and Lucy Lasher, of Katonah, NY and Jolee Lasher Cahill, of Myrtle Beach, SC. In addition, his brotherin-law, James Mullins, of Sun City, FL. as well as several nephews and nieces and dear friends. Peter was predecease­d by his parents Otis and Josephine Wiese, and sisters, Linda Mullins, Jan. 2021, and Susan Wiese July 2002.

There will be a Celebratio­n of Life service in Bronxville, NY in December, 2021.
