Roberta (Googie) Marie Miller Meyer of Stamford, Connecticu­t passed away Thursday, August 26th, 2021 at the age of 83. Roberta was born in Greenwich Hospital on August 29th, 1937 to the late Edward Clifford Miller and Mildred Louise Dahm Miller. Roberta grew up in the Belltown area of Stamford and graduated from Stamford High School in 1955. Roberta was very active in her church, Zion Lutheran, where she sang in the choir and while working in the Sunday school office, met the love of her life Ronald Louis Meyer. On November 4th, 1961 she and Ronald married and shared 59 years of loving happiness together. Through the years Roberta held several different jobs. The one that was closest to her heart was being an Administra­tive Assistant in the Westover Elementary School main office where she stayed for 25 years. Roberta’s great joys were cooking, baking, singing in the choir at church and her family. She is survived by her husband Ronald and their five children – Robert Meyer of Stamford Connecticu­t, Jeffrey Meyer and his wife Joyce Meyer of Trumbull Connecticu­t, Susan Genovese and her husband Matthew Genovese of Stamford Connecticu­t, David Meyer and his wife Gail Meyer of Shelton Connecticu­t, and William Meyer and his wife Holly McCormick of Stamford Connecticu­t. She is also survived by her seven grandchild­ren -Jordan Meyer, Matthew, Steven and Christina Genovese, Ryan and Hudson Meyer, and Kara Meyer. Along with her parents she was also predecease­d by her two siblings, Roger Miller and Ruth Northrop. She was a loving wife and mother, a great sister/aunt, a wonderful friend and a truly amazing Grammy. Friends & family may pay respects to Roberta on Friday, September 3rd at Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 2900 Summer Street, Stamford, CT, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The family will also receive guests on Saturday, September 4th from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., immediatel­y followed by a Lutheran Prayer Service at the Funeral Home. Roberta will be laid to rest at Fairfield Memorial Park in Stamford.
