A recommendation in Dist. 19

- Bob Lion represents District 19 on Stamford’s Board of Representatives.

The last four years has helped me understand what is required to be an effective member of the Board of Representatives for residents in District 19. I interviewed three candidates and recommended Don Mays and John Pelliccia to the committee handling the vetting process. They were nominated by the Democratic Party and will carry forward a dedication to serving the needs of the people living in this district and in the entire city. Their only focus is service to our neighborhood.

Don has lived and worked the Stamford area for 25 years and has a proven track record in advocating and testifying for federal legislation that has protected the safety and welfare of our children and families. He actively serves on the boards of several nonprofits, including Kids In Danger. He is a member of the North Stamford Association as well as People Friendly Stamford.

John understands, as I do, the importance of technology in serving our community. He will leverage his degree in computer science to assist the city with its push toward utilizing modern technology to provide residents with important communications and information. As a principal account manager at a top financial technology firm, John has always put his clients’ needs first, solving their problems in an efficient and effective manner, practices that John will leverage as district representative. He believes there is a solution to every problem; the key is to bring all parties together to respectfully discuss, strategically plan, and collectively arrive at a resolution.

I treasure the friends I have made while in this role and feel my work has been effective. I encourage voters who wish that work to go forward will vote for Don and John in the primary on Sept.14. They are committed to action that benefits us all.
