STAMFORD — It sits on nearly 25 acres of land, has 10 bedrooms, eight full bathrooms and has only had four owners since it was built in 1939. The compound at 1021 Rock Rimmon Road is also the highest-priced home for sale in the city.

The 6,442 square-foot home is currently on the market for $10 million. A 107-acre empty lot on 579 Erskine Road listed for $20 million is the only other listing priced higher than the Rock Rimmon property. Listing agent Stephan von Jena noted in an email that the highestpriced property to sell in Stamford was in 2003 for $8.2 million. If the Rock Rimmon Road sells for its asking price, it will take the top spot of priciest property sold in the city.

The North Stamford compound has a total of six buildings that surround five acres of ponds, stone bridges and open lawn spaces, according to the listing. Inside the main residence, there are five of the home’s 10 bedrooms, as well as several living spaces with large windows overlooking the property. Throughout the home, there are several stone fireplaces, a media room, sun room, a wet bar and a wine cellar.

Also on the property is a two-bedroom guest cottage with a stone fireplace, exposed ceiling beams and a full kitchen. A two-bedroom carriage house also has a stone fireplace and high ceilings with skylights.

The listing notes there’s a one-bedroom pool house outside the saltwater pool, as well as a writer’s cabin, barn and kennel. On the almost 25 acres of land, there are two organic vegetable gardens, several rose and flower gardens, and more than 200 specimen of trees and shrubs.
