High school football top performers for Week 2

Logan Briggs, Stafford co-op: Briggs had two defensive touchdowns on a 19-yard pick 6 and a 40-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown.

Henry Cunney, New Canaan: Quarterbac­k threw for two touchdowns and 173 yards, and had two rushing touchdowns in the Rams’ 50-0 win over McMahon.

Sam Doumah, Hamden: Doumah scored a 10-yard touchdown in overtime to win it for Hamden 13-6 over West Haven.

Cam Edwards, Norwalk: Scored five touchdowns, four rushing and one receiving as Norwalk defeated Fairfield Warde 46-13. One of his rushing touchdowns was for 82 yards. Edwards carried 21 times for 274 yards.

Austyn Howe, Newington: Howe build upon his strong week 1 performanc­e with three receiving touchdowns, a rushing touchdown and five 2-point conversion­s in Newington’s week 2 victory over Manchester 52-42.

Matt Lockavitch, Shelton: Had 13 tackles and forced a fumble that ended a scoring threat as Shelton shut out Amity 14-0.

Dylan Magazu, Newtown: Scored three rushing touchdowns (28, 31, and 61 yards) and had a 49-yard passing touchdown. He totaled 115 rushing yards on six carries and completed 10-of-14 passes for 133 yards.

Luke Maher, Granby/Canton: Maher rushed for 141 yards and a touchdown, as well as a pick 6 in Granby/ Canton’s 20-19 win over Stafford coop.

Darell McKnight, Ansonia: Rushed for 242 yards and three touchdowns as Ansonia beat Oxford 28-13.

Kenny McMillan, Maloney: McMillan rushed for 69 yards and three touchdowns to lead Maloney to its first win of the season, 33-14 over Conard.

Ryan Outlow, Ledyard: Rushed for five touchdowns on 191 yards in Ledyard’s 47-0 victory over Bacon Academy.

Adrian Parker, Manchester: Completed 20 passes for over 300 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for two touchdowns and 47 yards.

Matt Piechota, Notre Dame-West Haven: The quarterbac­k was 8-of-16 in the air with four passing touchdowns while rushing for 55 yards on six carries in Notre Dame-West Haven’s 65-22 win over Harding.

Leo Perreira, Hall: Had 34 carries for 208 yards with four touchdowns in Hall’s 43-27 victory over Simsbury. He now has 10 touchdowns through two games.

Amari Robinson, Platt: Racked up 127 rushing yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Robinson also recovered a fumble and took it 98 yards to the house as Platt defeated Middletown 43-7.

Victor Rosa, Bristol Central: Connecticu­t’s top recruit had three rushing touchdowns and 239 yards on the ground while passing for 77 yards and a touchdown.

Dallas Rose, Bloomfield: Ran for

103 and two touchdowns on nine carries as Bloomfield defeated Plainville 48-0.

Nick Saccu, Masuk: Ran for 239 yards and five touchdowns while throwing for another two, totaling seven touchdowns in Masuk’s 58-14 win over Stratford.

Jacob Staton, Notre Dame-West Haven: Had four touchdowns and 123 yards rushing on 14 carries in Notre Dame-West Haven’s blowout victory.

Stonington Scoring: Stonington got its first win of the season, downing Griswold 60-0 with nine different players scoring a touchdown in the victory.

Kyle Thomas, Danbury: The senior running back rushed for three touchdowns (in a row) in Danbury’s first win, 35-13 over Stamford.

D.J. Wright and Drew Kron, Xavier: Wright rushed for three touchdowns while Kron totaled four (two passing and two rushing) as Xavier beat Wilbur Cross 56-12.
