Squishmallows are selling at a greater volume for Funky Monkey in comparison to other recent trends such as Pokemon, according to Imperatore. She believes that people are also spending more on Squishmallows in comparison to Beanie Babies in the 90s because “we do things in a bigger way now.”
“I think this is a true trend for kids whereas Pokemon, and sports cards in general, have become a dad and college graduate thing to make extra money,” Impreatore said.
