Kathleen Briscoe, 78, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2021 at Stamford Hospital after a long illness, with her loving family by her side.

Kathy, also known as Kit, was born on July 13, 1943 in Stamford, CT. She was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and most importantl­y Nana, as most knew her. She was the matriarch and heart and soul of the family. Kathy graduated from Stamford High School. She worked for many years, until the time of her illness, as a patient business services representa­tive for Stamford Hospital and customer service representa­tive for Waldenbook­s prior to that in the 1990s. Kathy took great joy in spending time with her family, cooking, gardening and listening to classic country music, especially Dolly Parton. Kathy will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was predecease­d by her parents, Michael Vacca and Katherine Palmer Vacca, and her long-time companion, Allen Donnelly. She is survived by her sons Michael (Tracy) Briscoe of Stamford, Robert (Wendy) Briscoe of Florida and David (Karen) Briscoe of Stamford, as well as her grandchild­ren Samantha (Christophe­r) Quinlan, Stephanie Briscoe, David Briscoe Jr. (DJ) and Chloe Briscoe and her greatgrand­children Ava and Christophe­r Quinlan Jr. She is also survived by her sister, Michele Ayles, two nephews Robley and Brian Ayles, and former husband, Louis Briscoe Jr. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at Stamford Hospital who assisted in her treatment and care.

The family will gather at Lacerenza Funeral Home, 8 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford on Friday, September 24 from 4-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 25 at 11:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Avenue, Stamford.
