Suzanne Lenore Waskewicz Pucci

Suzanne (Sue/Granny) died on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at El Reposo Nursing Home in Florence, AL after a battle with cancer at the age of 83. Sue was surrounded by dear friends at the time of her death.

Sue was born on August 7, 1938 to the late Victor and Silvia Waskewicz in Stamford, CT. She was predecease­d in death by her former spouse Angelo John Pucci of Greenwich, CT with whom they had and are survived by two sons, Michael (Lynn) and Richard (Cynthia) Pucci.

Sue is also survived by 5 grandchild­ren and 1 greatgrand­child; Gerry, Nathaniel and Benjamin and Lynn’s 2 children Kim, Benjamin and Kim’s daughter, Natalie.

Sue moved from CT in 1986 to Alta Loma, CA where she worked as an administra­tive assistant at a local hospital. She then retired and moved to Tehachapi, CA and then to her final retirement location in Killen, AL. Sue enjoyed many summer vacations with her children and grandchild­ren and built a wonderful community with her neighbors who became a second family to her.

Sue made many friends wherever she went and always seemed to build a community for herself among the different places she lived. Sue had a passion for animals and was a breeder of smooth fox terrier dogs for many years. Sue could always be seen with her dogs at many dog shows where she won many awards. She also made many close and life long friends through these associatio­ns. She was a member of the American Fox Terrier Club and also Mid South Fox Terrier Club of Memphis, TN and a member/officer for the Western Fox Terrier Breeder’s Associatio­n.

The Pucci family would like to acknowledg­e and thank Sabrina Green and her husband Darrell for their devotion and friendship to Sue for all their help during her illness. The family also acknowledg­es Sue’s friends Joni, Nancy and Traci.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyteri­an Church in Stamford, CT on October 2, 2021 at 12 noon. Comfortabl­e attire is requested. In place of flowers, the family asks if donations could be made to either El Reposo Nursing Home in Florence, AL or Cancercare. Her ashes will be at her final resting place at First Presbyteri­an Church in Stamford, CT in the Memorial Garden.
