What you need to know: UConn nearly pulled off one of college football’s biggest upsets last Saturday, falling 24-22 to Wyoming. The Huskies seem to have found their quarterbac­k in freshman Tyler Phommachan­h, not to mention a special teams weapon in kick returner Brian Brewton. Vanderbilt is a 14.5-point favorite, but don’t be surprised if the Huskies make another run at their first victory in two years. The Commodores, who lost to FCS product East Tennessee State in their season opener, are an SEC team in name only.

SACRED HEART at HOWARD

What you need to know: Is Sacred Heart’s season on the brink? Not quite, but the Pioneers certainly need to change their fortunes around in a hurry. They have a good chance of doing this weekend — with or without injured running back Julius Chestnut. Opponents are averaging 42.5 points against Howard through four games.
